Privacy policy

Atlas & Ash is operated by [Company legal name] ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy or your information go to [privacy@yourdomain.com].

• Account details. Your name and email address, provided when you sign in.
• Your work. Worlds, codex entries, maps, chapters, notes, review marks, covers, and pictures you upload or paint with AI.
• Activity needed to run the app. A ledger of AI actions you take (which action, when, and its credit cost), and how many times each share link has been opened.
• Technical records. Our hosting platform keeps standard server logs and basic usage statistics, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and request times. Your browser also stores your sign-in and a few display preferences on your device.

We do not collect payment details, and we do not use advertising cookies or sell information to advertisers.

Every record you create is tied to your account. The database only lets your account read, change or delete those records, so other writers cannot see your worlds or manuscripts, even if they try to reach the data directly.

Pictures and cover files are kept in private storage. The app opens them through links that stop working within a few hours, and only for your account or for readers of a book you shared.

• Readers you invite. A share link lets anyone who has it read the chapters you chose, until you revoke it. Readers must sign in to comment, and you see each commenter's name and comment.
• Us, in limited cases. As the operator, we and our hosting provider have technical access to stored data. We only look at your work when you ask us to help with it, to investigate abuse or a security problem, or when the law requires it.

AI actions run only when you click them, and each one shows its credit cost first. When you use one, the text it needs (for example an entry, a passage, or your prompt) is sent through our platform provider to an AI model provider, which returns the result.

We do not use your writing to train AI models, and we do not sell or license your work to anyone.

The app runs on Base44, which provides hosting, the database, file storage, sign-in and access to AI models. AI requests are processed by the model providers Base44 connects to. These providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.

Your work stays in your account until you delete it. Deleted items can remain in backups for a limited time before they are overwritten.

To close your account and erase everything in it, email [privacy@yourdomain.com] from the address you sign in with. We will confirm once it is done, within 30 days.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. Write to [privacy@yourdomain.com]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will also tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
